What Chinese New Year Says About The Growth Of The World's Most Vibrant Economy

It’s traditional for most people in China to go home to their families on Lunar New Year, which falls on Feb. 19 this year. China experiences a massive migration around the holiday, with an estimated 3.65 billion trips made during a 40-day period. What’s interesting about all of these holiday trips is that they give a picture of the country’s migration patterns, but in reverse. They have also changed a lot in the past 10 years, along with China’s economy.
