It’s traditional for most people in China to go home to their families on Lunar New Year, which falls on Feb. 19 this year. China experiences a massive migration around the holiday, with an estimated 3.65 billion trips made during a 40-day period. What’s interesting about all of these holiday trips is that they give a picture of the country’s migration patterns, but in reverse. They have also changed a lot in the past 10 years, along with China’s economy.
