Corporate Social Intrapreneurship: Why the Most Common Strategies Aren't Good Enough

While the label “corporate social intrapreneur” is a torturous construction, behind it lies an idea that is easy to understand: seeking social and environmental change by trying to change the way companies work. Corporate social intrapreneurs – as opposed to many of their colleagues in CSR or sustainability departments – often work without an internal mandate, but rather pursue positive social change through their own individual agency. Think of them as “activist employees.” They may help companies develop new product lines or become better citizens, or they might try to change parts or all of a company’s strategy or positioning.
